Where to invest?

There are lots of investment opportunities nowadays. Let's have a look at them below.

  1. Cash / Savings’ Bank Accounts

These are the places which have the lowest risk but they also give the lowest returns.

  1. Fixed Deposits / Debt Mutual Funds

These are comparatively better and give medium returns with medium risk.

  1. Gold / Commodities

These are comparatively riskier and usually give inflation like returns.

  1. Real Estate

These require huge investments, are not very liquid and the returns are usually seen over the long term.

  1. Equities / Stocks / Mutual Funds

These are risky but also have the potential to provide the best returns provided you know what you are doing. It's basically an ownership in a business, so if the business does well you enjoy the benefits. If it does not you restrict the risk to the proportion you invested in the company.

  1. Crypto / Art / Others

These require niche expertise and can generate huge returns but the biggest risk that I see is that they are not regulated and have no objective way of determining value of the underlying asset/security.
